It is possible that this painting is also from 1910, when Jaan Koort worked on the shores of Lake Pühajärv. In this picture Koort has experimented with composition by creating several reflections: a notional vertical line divides the painting into two and the right and left sides seem to reflect one another; in addition, there is a reflection in the river in the middle of the composition, doubling the upper part of the painting. With his palette consisting mainly of different shades of green, Koort has been rather analytical and primarily interested in perspectives and compositional principles.
