Eduard Kutsar (1902–1970)

Eduard Kutsar studied intermittently at the Pallas Art School for 18 years, switching between painting, graphic art and sculpture. His oeuvre is also multifaceted and represents various genres. However, he rarely participated in exhibitions and only a few of his earlier works have survived because of the fire in his studio in 1944. His later years were complicated both mentally and physically, because he lost his right hand in a car accident. He learned to paint with his left hand, but resorted to painting only small-sized pictures, and mainly kept to himself.
